FORMULA NORTH- May 24th-27th, 2012

 http://formulanorth.com/

Formula North is a student-design competition which will take place in Ontario, Canada in May 2012. The competition is set to follow similar organizational and technical framework as the Formula SAE/Student series held all around the world. The competition requires students to design, build and compete with a new open-cockpit, single seat F-1 style race from scratch every year. Students are then challenged on their car's design, overall cost, and performance on track by various experts from the automotive and motorsports industry. Also in order to introduce students to the real world, teams must create a sales plan which will attract a group of investors to commit towards the productions of 1000 race cars every year. The target audience would be a non-professional weekend autocross racer who would require the race car to have good driving characteristics as well as economic affordability and aesthetic appeal.
